BUILDING A FUTURE
Open Door Ministries currently has a refuge house in Honduras, called "Gates of Hope". This home will house 25 girls and their babies. Many of these girls have become pregnant as a result of rape and would continue to live a life of abuse, incest and neglect until they are rescued from their environment.
The Gates of Hope is designed to offer a safe environment where these pregnant girls can receive prenatal care and a sound education. This environment will offer these girls, and their children, hope in achieving a higher quality of life. The Gates of Hope is designed to give the girls "a hand up, not a hand out."
Open Door Ministries is currently building the Children's Village consisting of ten Casitas. These Casitas consist of some single and some double story homes. Our single story Casitas are 1,300 sq. ft. and will house six to eight children and a set of house parents at a cost of $23,000 per Casita. Our two story Casita is 1,800 sq. ft. and costs $29,500.
